The need

The visit involved checking a bathroom fan and a pot light in the context of a restoration-related electrical service call. The job notes recorded water-related concerns, so the useful first step was to inspect the equipment and its electrical components rather than assume replacement was required.

PTX's approach

PTX inspected the bathroom fan and found no water damage requiring replacement. The pot light’s electrical components were also inspected, with no replacement needed. Andrew confirmed that a Restoration Inspection Report was completed, creating an assessed and photographed condition record to help inform the proposed work and quote.

The recorded result

The bathroom fan did not need to be replaced, and the pot light did not need to be replaced. The notes also recorded a couple of water marks on the pot-light trim that could be cleaned. A quote will be prepared based on the completed Restoration Inspection Report; the quote and any later installation are not recorded as complete.

What this job helps another property owner consider

When restoration-related concerns involve electrical fixtures, an inspection and documented condition record can help separate items that need further work from items that do not need replacement. This example shows the value of confirming the condition first and using the findings to inform the next quote.
