The need

The service call involved investigating a tripping breaker associated with an outlet in stall 408. The outlet was initially understood as an EV outlet, but the investigation identified it as a welder outlet. A bad connection was found at the receptacle, giving PTX a specific issue to address rather than treating the call as a general breaker problem.

PTX's approach

PTX investigated the reported tripping issue, identified the bad connection and clarified the type of receptacle in place. Because the correct replacement was needed, the work was arranged for a return visit with the appropriate 50-amp receptacle. The old receptacle was then removed and a new 50-amp receptacle was installed.

The recorded result

The recorded work shows that the old 50-amp receptacle was removed and a new 50-amp receptacle was installed on July 28, 2026. The job notes document the investigation, the bad connection found at the outlet and the replacement work. They do not record a separate testing result or confirm a later outcome beyond the completed replacement.

What this job helps another property owner consider

When an outlet is associated with a tripping breaker, identifying the actual equipment and receptacle type is an important part of the investigation. In this case, clarifying that the outlet was for a welder rather than an EV helped establish what replacement was needed. A similar service call may require both finding the connection problem and confirming the correct receptacle before replacement.
