Documented field work
Before, rebuild and recorded result

The need
The recorded scope was a lighting repair. The two T8 bulbs in the fixture were burnt out, and the ballast also required attention. The customer did not have replacement bulbs on site, so new bulbs were purchased from the supplier, including extra bulbs requested by the customer.
PTX's approach
The supply wires were tested first and had the proper voltage. The ballast was then tested and showed 0 volts, indicating it was no good according to the job record. PTX disconnected and removed the old ballast, installed a new 4' T8 fluorescent ballast for two lamps, spliced the wires together and used a 2 Wire Wago Lever Connector 221. The two burnt-out T8 bulbs were removed and replaced.
The recorded result
The light turned on and was recorded as working properly. Eight new T8 bulbs were left for the customer as spares, and the work area was cleaned up.
What another customer can take from this example
This example shows why an electrical service call can include both testing and component replacement. Here, the supply wires had the proper voltage, while the ballast tested at 0 volts and both bulbs were burnt out. It is a record of this New Westminster lighting repair, not a diagnosis for another property.
