The need

The requested task was to supply and install a high-ceiling fan. The existing ceiling fan was disconnected and removed as part of the work.

PTX's approach

The ladder available at the site was a 12-foot step ladder, which was too short to change the ceiling fan. The team rented a 16-foot step ladder from a wholesaler, with ladder support included for safety. They then removed the old fan and installed the new one.

The recorded result

The new ceiling fan was installed on September 22, 2026, and tested as working properly. The rented ladder was returned to the wholesaler after the work. Other tasks recorded for the visit included the ladder rental, cartage and disposal.

What this job helps another property owner consider

For a high-ceiling fan installation, the available access equipment is part of the work plan. In this case, the existing 12-foot ladder was not tall enough, so a 16-foot ladder was rented before the installation proceeded. The right equipment should be confirmed for the specific site rather than assuming a ladder already there will be suitable.
