Installation details and completed work

The need
The recorded scope was to investigate a burned outlet and a spark. The tenant had a power bar plugged into the receptacle, and that power bar was found to be damaged. The receptacle was also burned and needed to be disconnected and removed.
PTX's approach
The team removed the burned receptacle and checked the wires inside the box. The recorded result was that the wires were in good condition. The damaged power bar was identified as the reason it sparked, and the tenant was told not to use it again and to throw it away. PTX then replaced the outlet with a new 15A TR Decora receptacle.
The recorded result
The burned receptacle was removed and a new receptacle was installed on October 5, 2026. The work record states that the wires inside the box were in good condition. The damaged power bar was taken out of use based on the instruction given to the tenant.
What this job helps another property owner consider
If an outlet has burned or something plugged into it has sparked, this job shows why both the receptacle and the connected device matter. In this recorded case, the receptacle was replaced, while the damaged power bar was identified as the source of the spark and told to be discarded. This example is not a diagnosis of another property.
