The need
The customer requested help diagnosing flickering lights in a bathroom. The work focused on the light switch and the connected lightbulbs rather than assuming the cause from the symptom alone.
PTX's approach
PTX first opened the light switch to review the wires. Three new lightbulbs were installed as part of troubleshooting. The flickering stopped, but returned after the light switch was reassembled. The wiring was then reviewed more closely, and an unsafe amount of wires under one wire marrette was identified. PTX made an extension so the wires were separated under two marrettes, then closed up the switch and tested the original lightbulbs.
The recorded result
With the new lightbulbs in place and the wiring separated under two marrettes, the flickering stopped. The work was completed on October 26, 2026, and everything was reviewed with the client.
What this job helps another property owner consider
Flickering lights may warrant a review of both the bulbs and the switch wiring. In this documented New Westminster example, changing the bulbs alone did not provide the lasting result; separating the wiring under two marrettes was also part of resolving the issue. This example is not a diagnosis for another property.
